I love candles!
I soon became tired of the "cucumber melon" scent and wanted to buy something different, so while I was out with my mom one day I found this Yankee candle on sale. So as soon as I got it home I of course put it on my candle warmer and it hasn't moved since. It has now been on the warmer for almost 2 months. I adore this flavor so much and I'm not in to the citrus scents. Anyway I just wanted to let y'all in on a couple of things that I really like. Just in case you might want to try them. (This is all my own opinion I am not being paid to say any of the things I stated here just an FYI)
Two of my favorite things:

Candle warmer: from Hobby Lobby
Cost: $4.99
Yankee Candle: Mandarin Cranberry
Cost: $24.99 (medium jar)
I bought this before Eli and I got married, but didn't start using it till we moved in with each other. As I was unpacking some boxes I found it and put it in the restroom with a " cucumber melon" candle I bought at Hobby Lobby also. I was very surprised at house fast my restroom began to smell of the aroma, and how fast the candle had melted.

After picking our pumpkins we went to HEB and got some things that we were needing. While at the store I checked-in on "Foursquare"(an app on my droid) and saw that my parents were at our church. Eli and I were wondering "hm why are they there?" We were thinking and out of no where we both came up with the same idea... lets go tag their truck. LOL. So we got into our car and drove over to our church as fast as we could (without getting in trouble) we arrived at the church and tagged away. I told Eli you tag the car cause if they come out we need to leave fast. So Eli tagged the windows and about 3 mins after arriving we left. On our way home we were expecting a call but not as fast as we got it. Approximately 10 mins later my step-dad called laughing because he had known that we were the ones that had tagged the car.
the pumpkin we picked |
This evening we went to a Pumpkin Patch in San Antonio at a nearby church. Eli and I had never actually been to a pumpkin patch before so we didn't know how things would be... When we arrived both of us were surprised to see many different pumpkins. As we were trying to find the perfect pumpkin for us I was busy taking pictures of cute unique pumpkins. One reason we went to the pumpkin patch is because the church selling that pumpkins is trying to help send two teams of teenagers on a mission trips. For us mission trips are very important so anyway we can help we try to do so. Eli and I really enjoyed the experience of finding our own pumpkin, and not having to go through a box or a shelf of pumpkins that someone else has picked. LOL I really liked being able to see all the pumpkins and pick my own so I'm sure that next year we will try and go again.

Dad feeding his baby chickens |
Our weekend started on Friday October 22, and we spent it with my parents. Eli and I started the day off by going to his new job where Eli had to take his badge photo, then we went to our favorite taco place to have lunch. After lunch we decided to go to the newest Goodwill where we found a brand new flip cam charger and it was only $3.00. SCORE!! That night we went out with my parents and niece and had an awesome night.

Sunday October 24, we got up early and did as we always do on sunday, we attended Church. Eli and I love the sermon and enjoyed the amazing praise and worship. After church we went to a restaurant not to far from our church called "Cheesy Jane's" All I have to say about their food is OMG!?!?! If you have a "Cheesy Jane's" near you, you must try the "sweetie fries" it is sweet potato fries with sugar/salt sprinkled on top of them. They are amazing!!! (man I want some now) Another amazing thing they have is a "chilli cheeseburger" their burgers are big but the amount of chilli they put on the burger makes it look tiny. If you would like to see the burger click the link and you can see the burger and fries. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCNXxcgcUYI Then the rest of the day Eli and I just relaxed and enjoyed the day before he went back to work.

So its Thursday and soon Eli will be returning to work. I can't help but be a little sad, because this past month together has been are longest time we spent with just one another. When I say that I mean without him having to go to work (obviously). In a way it has brought us extremely closer even though at times we irritated each other. LOL. (what married couple doesn't do that?) I realize today in this moment how truly blessed we have been to be able to spend so much time with each other. I am so thankful to the Lord above for blessing us with the opportunity to get to know each other more, ( in a way that we hadn't ) and I think that is simple because once we got married we moved in with each other and never really got to learn each others bad habits, dislikes in chores, or lazy qualities. LOL.

Some cool things that happen while Eli was unemployed. Able to be at the airport when his bestfriend Mariano came home for RNR, also had time to spend with Mariano while he was here for 2 weeks. We had that opportunity to go on a few roadtrips around Texas while spending much needed time together. Had more than enough time to spend with our family and friends. Went to my highschool alumnis football game against our sister school. (which we won) Also got to join Marianos family at the airport in sending him back to work in Afghanistan. Most recently we join a couple hundred people in laying to rest a inspiring women my cousin Mary Ann who passed of breast cancer on October 12, 2010.

So since Eli is going back to work soon that means the vlogs aren't going to be too exciting, but you never know what we have up our sleeves. Eli and I have come up with many cool ideas to get our vlogs some more views and also to help us interact with our viewers more. One that we have already put in motion is our contest that begins on October 25 and ends November 25. (see our "25 dollar contest" vlog for details or email us at justusplusthem@gmail.com) Hopefully Eli wont be working crazy hours as he was before but we will try to vlog as we were when he was working. Eli will take a camera with him and I will continue to use that Flip. We hope that y'all have enjoyed our videos thus far and that you will continue to enjoy them.
Well its getting late and I have to edit tomorrows vlog so I think I will go ahead and call it a night.

First blog post
Hey y'all,

February 16, 2009 Austin, TX. |
Okay so this is Nichole, I'm sure Eli will never add anything on here but this is the start of our blog. I'm not very good at writing out stuff so we will see how this goes. LOL. If you don't know us Eli and I are vloggers on youtube, we do daily vlogs about our life. If you haven't noticed our name is justusplusthem, the reason we chose that name is because in our vlogs it is about our life but we have a bunch of friends who are like family, and family who are like friends in our vlogs. We really enjoy vlogging and our long term goal is to continue to vlog for a whole year, but that is enough about that let me tell you about Eli and myself.
Eli is 27 born in the summer he is the youngest of his parents children.
I am 22 born in the winter and the oldest of my parents children.
Eli and I met through my cousin who is also his sister-in-law, the first time we actually "hung out" was at a Superbowl party my parents we throwing. ( who would of known that would be the day I hung out with my future husband) Our first date was Valentines day '09! Eli had asked me to go on a date with him from the Superbowl party till valentines and I kept rejecting him, (I was shy) but he knew I couldn't reject him on V-day. lol. So we went on our first date then the next day I met his church family. One week later I started to attend church with Eli and it was the best thing that could happen to me, because months later I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. After a year of dating we decided that we "had nothing better to do so we got married."
